Meet Your Farmer

So today there was an article on the news about how Nova Scotians aren’t eating “local”.  In fact, the article goes on to say that only about 13% of the food most Nova Scotians eat is locally produced.  Yikes.  Really?  I mean…really?

I like a good pineapple as much as the next person but when there is a choice out there….USA carrots or Annapolis Valley carrots…choose the ones closer to you.  Even if we ate local 70 to 80% of the time it could make a huge impact!

The Nova Scotia Federation of Agriculture launched a new website promoting local Nova Scotia farmers.  Meet Your Farmer Check it out when you get a chance!
